This Connection Also Means That The Evil Acts Committed

The post-credits scene of Eternals introduced one key object in Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman history: the Ebony Blade, and here’s what you need to know about it. With the Infinity Saga now over, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is moving forward with its Phase 4, which covers both TV shows and movies, and which is exploring new concepts and places from this extensive universe. Phase 4 is also introducing new characters, and the first team to join this new era are the Eternals, who changed the history of the MCU, and with them also came Dane Whitman. Directed by ChloĆ© Zhao, Eternals introduced the title team, an alien race created by the Celestial Arishem and sent to Earth centuries ago to protect Earth from their evil counterparts, the Deviants, and who stayed to help humans progress, though they weren’t allowed to interfere in their conflicts. The team is formed by Sersi (Gemma Chan), Ikaris (Richard Madden), Sprite (Lia McHugh), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Mak

Newman Typically Contributes Songs That While Not Sung

Toy Story 4 again features the musical stylings of Randy Newman, including a couple of new songs in addition to an old favorite. This latest Toy Story film finds Woody and the gang with their new kid, Bonnie, and the change in living situation makes the film a bit of a departure from earlier installments. Not that fans should worry, though, because Toy Story 4 retains the same zany humor and heartfelt moments audiences have come to expect of the film series. Newman's music has been a part of the Toy Story franchise since the very beginning and it's impossible to imagine a Toy Story movie without his signature songs. Along with scoring each film, Newman typically contributes songs that while not sung by any of the characters (and usually performed by Newman himself), are used to reflect their emotions. For example, the beautiful "When She Loved Me" isn't sung by Jessie in Toy Story 2 (instead it's Sarah McLachlan), but the way it's used in the film highlig

Which In Turn Has Allowed Studios To Release All Those Movies

This weekend, Netflix will add a documentary series, a British thriller drama miniseries, and a horror movie. The coronavirus pandemic continues, but that hasn’t stopped theaters all over the world from continuing working as normal, which in turn has allowed studios to release all those movies that had to be delayed. However, streaming services continue to be the main source of entertainment for many, with many of them still housing movies that skipped theatrical releases while also adding original content. Such is the case of Netflix, which not only keeps welcoming movies that didn’t release in theaters but also keeps adding new licensed and original content every week. Last weekend, the streaming giant welcomed the fifth seasons of Better Call Saul and Queen of the South, and the thriller movies The Call and Nightcrawler, along with the documentary Return to Space, the fifth season of the teen drama series Elite, and the teen comedy movie Metal Lords. This weekend, Netflix won’t see

He Was Transformed Into One Of The Most Powerful Beings

Hela's death in Thor: Ragnarok could have set up Christian Bale's villain, Gorr the God-Butcher, in Thor: Love & Thunder. The fourth Thor film will be heavily influenced by Jason Aaron's iconic Thor run, which saw Jane Foster become the Mighty Thor. What's more, the two Gods of Thunder will be going up against one of Aaron's most memorable villains; Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale. In the comics, Gorr's story goes back 3,000 years. He grew up in an arid, doomed world, and eventually developed a bitter hatred of the gods who had failed to save his family from death in the harsh environment. Finally, Gorr stumbled upon the bodies of two gods who had fallen to the ground locked in combat; one had stabbed the other with a fearsome weapon called All-Black the Necrosword, which imbued him with the power to slay the gods. He was transformed into one of the most powerful beings of all creation, slaughtering gods for millennia. It's not hard to se

This Would Have Resulted In Not Only The Resurrection Of Leary's Capt

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 never got off the ground, but with the huge surge in love that Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man has received, it would look quite different if it were to actually proceed. After the mixed reception to The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Garfield's superhero career looked to have been cut short. However, his triumphant return to the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home has paved the way for a future that, while undoubtedly different from what Sony had originally intended, may yet prove to be extremely successful. Following the cancellation of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4, Sony elected to reboot the Spider-Man series with 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, with Andrew Garfield becoming the new Peter Parker. While Sony had big plans for the Spider-Man franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man 2's polarized reception and (comparative) box office downturn led to Spidey rebooting again in the MCU, with Tom Holland taking on the role. Spider-Man: No Way Home has changed the game fo

The Lighthouse Is Most Definitely In The Same School

The Northman, a 10th century viking revenge tale from The Witch director Robert Eggers, is in the works, and here's what we know about it so far. Although he's only made two films so far, Eggers has already established himself as a filmmaker worth following, as both The Witch and 2019's The Lighthouse are highly unique, mentally stimulating efforts. Sure, they might annoy some moviegoers looking for a more straightforward narrative and concrete answers to every question raised, but it's impossible to please everyone. The Witch is the film that arguably gave rise to the "elevated horror" phrase that's basically used to refer to arthouse horror that tells a slow burn story, doesn't rely on Hollywood's beloved jump scare tactics, and is content to leave viewers guessing as to what they really just saw afterward. The Lighthouse is most definitely in the same school, but takes the strangeness factor up several notches. Amusingly enough, some horror fan

A Fourth Movie Was Canceled After Raimi Withdrew From The Project

Disney famously acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019. A major effect of the merger is that almost all of the Marvel characters that have previously existed outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have now reverted back to Marvel Studios - although the preexisting movies do not fall under that umbrella. Marvel has announced plans to reboot many of the franchises that are back under their ownership and integrate them into the MCU, and Disney+ has started rebranding Marvel movies that don't fall under the MCU banner as Marvel Legacy movies. There is a long history of Marvel films that exist outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that are stylistically very different from the MCU, but many of them remain - if not good - then very, very watchable. Here's every Marvel movie that isn't part of the MCU. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002) was the first installment in the trilogy, which also included Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man 3 (2007). James Cameron intended to write and dir

He Did Share A Romantic Relationship With Sersi In The 1990s

Despite the fact that Black Knight (Kit Harrington) is barely in the Eternals trailer, it does look like he may be getting his comic book-accurate backstory. In the comics, Dane Whitman is the latest in a long line of swordsman who carried the Black Knight mantle and the enchanted weapon known as the Ebony Blade. Right now, Kit Harrington’s character is one of the upcoming Marvel movie’s biggest mysteries. As the movie’s only confirmed human character and someone who isn’t actually a part of the Eternals team, it’s not altogether clear what his purpose is in the story. He did share a romantic relationship with Sersi in the 1990s that’s apparently being adapted to the big screen, but it’s likely that his role in Eternals (and the MCU as a whole) goes a lot deeper than just that. After all, Black Knight is a major Avengers character and is easily one of the important members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes who hasn’t already been featured in the MCU. Plus, being played by the Game of Throne

The Gilded Age Is Set To Take A Different Approach

The characters in Julian Fellowes’s The Gilded Age appear to be far more obsessed with money than those in Downton Abbey - but why is this? Although series like Downton Abbey and The Crown draw on historically opulent English locations, The Gilded Age is set to take a different approach. Set in 1880s America, The Gilded Age promises to tackle issues of class and wealth among New York City’s high society. The changing fortunes of this group will make up the bulk of the drama for the series, in contrast to the plots of inherited titles which made up much of Downton Abbey - although the divide between "old money" and "new money" will no doubt play a vital role. While the characters of Downton Abbey had generations of tradition to look back on, those in The Gilded Age are residents of a far younger nation. With fewer traditions to draw on and less power drawn from family names alone, money will be the deciding factor in these characters’ place in New York City society.

With The Goal To Preserve The International Statute Of Secrecy

The end of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald leaves a big rift between Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol) and Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), but J.K. Rowling already hinted at a happier end for the two through an American Quidditch chaser. In Fantastic Beasts 2, Queenie joins Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp/Mads Mikkelsen), led by the belief that in a world where Wizardkind doesn't have to hide anymore, she would be free to love Jacob. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore promises to further explore Queenie and Jacob's relationship and Queenie's role at Grindelwald's side. Fantastic Beasts 2 completely changed Queenie, as she turns from a deeply empathetic character (naturally, as she is a Legilimens) into an alienated and frustrated follower of Grindelwald's. But there is a reason behind her dark turn: Rappaport’s Law, which was enacted in 1790 in the U.S. and intended to create complete segregation between the No-Maj and wizarding communities, with

While Centering On The Basic Premise Of The Halo Games

Paramount+'s video game-inspired Halo TV show looks scintillating, but how do its characters, aliens, and location changes compare to the Halo source material? First premiering on March 24th, 2022, the Halo series is set to follow a futuristic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as The Covenant. However, while centering on the basic premise of the Halo games, the Paramount+ original series looks to be making wholesale changes to the narrative first laid out by the existing video game franchise. Halo executive producer Kiki Wolfkill confirmed as much via Twitter, revealing that the Paramount+ series is a non-canonical standalone story inspired by the game franchise rather than a continuation, adaptation, or prequel to any existing installment. According to Wolfkill, this decision was taken to "give the two Halo canons a chance to evolve individually to suit their mediums." This, in turn, has led to the Halo show being officially dubbed as taki
